Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m a total geek. I LOVE learning new things! Especially when it comes to marketing,  web based business mastery, psychology of selling, personal development, etc.

I’ve always been a speed reader, so that’s helped me whip through material pretty fast. (I was an English major with 2 jobs in college – I HAD to learn to read fast!)

Then along came audio courses…it used to drive me nuts listening to these speakers ramble on and not being able to speed things up. There WAS gold there – I just had to listen to a lot of filler to get to it. I felt like I was back in corporate America, trapped in those endless business meetings where you spend 3 hours discussing something that could have been covered in 10 minutes.

Then I found Faster Audio. It was like a dream come true! With this software, I could speed up the audio playback to whatever I wanted, and still get the information. There was no learning curve with the software, the interface was very easy to use, and within minutes of downloading it, I was using it. It literally cut my learning time in half. I tend to speed most audio up by 50% and still get a very clear playback.  It worked like a charm!

And then came video courses….

Suddenly everything was video and I was back to square one - having to watch the whole thing and being unable to speed things up. Having to spend hours in front of my computer to find the gems in the material. It was awful!

I’ve been a member of Mom Masterminds for almost a year now. It’s a great group of  moms who support and help each other grow their businesses. Though I’ve been too busy to be very active in the forums (something I plan to change in the new year),  every time I pop in I’m reminded of why I love the membership.

2. Know What You’re Looking For. The best reviews are those found at places like scam.com and ripoffreport.com. These sites are a wealth of information. They give the bad, and sometimes good, about all sorts of products and services on the Internet.

The next place to check is forums that you frequent, or forums in that niche. For instance, if it’s an internet marketing product, the warrior forum is the best place to check out product reviews.

A lot of these types of reviews are done by affiliates, so don’t automatically take someone at their word – they get a commission if you buy the product through their link. Blog Inferno is a new product out by Colleen Slater. Now let me first say that I’ve had some interaction with Colleen via email and she is the nicest woman you’d ever meet! Extremely helpful, and someone I look to as a mentor. She has literally built a six figure business working an hour a day while keeping a regular job and raising a family. The woman has earned my respect!

But, I can also say that there are other people I’ve “met” online who are equally nice and equally successful - and their products are just so-so. (No, I won’t name names! :-))

Colleen would never fall into that category. I was floored by the amount of information in Blog Inferno.
