Home Business Scam – 3 Easy Ways to Protect Yourself

published on December 8th, 2008 . by admin

The Internet is chock-a-block full of home business scams trying to separate you from your hard earned money. These people prey on your emotions and need for cash, and they hire the best copywriters in the world to suck you in. Here are 3 easy ways you can protect yourself.

1. Do Your Research. Before you buy any product, research it on the Internet. Type in the name of the product and the word scam and see what pops up.

2. Know What You’re Looking For. The best reviews are those found at places like scam.com and ripoffreport.com. These sites are a wealth of information. They give the bad, and sometimes good, about all sorts of products and services on the Internet.

The next place to check is forums that you frequent, or forums in that niche. For instance, if it’s an internet marketing product, the warrior forum is the best place to check out product reviews.

Finally, you can check other sites and see what people are saying. A lot of these types of reviews are done by affiliates, so don’t automatically take someone at their word – they get a commission if you buy the product through their link. Find people you trust and stick with the products and services they recommend.

3. Know The Common Scams To Avoid. There are ways to make quick money on the Internet. In fact, I have a free report called Secret Shortcuts Revealed that will show you how I easily generated $1409 in 30 days. But there are many types of scams out there that don’t.

Almost all of the survey sites I’ve seen are scams – you may make a few bucks here and there but you will never make the kind of money you see promoted on their website.  Also, anything that says, “”You can just put up a Web page, do nothing, and cash huge checks–there is no work required!” is a scam. Stay far away.

There is always work involved – it may not be much, but there’s always something! Some other common scams are envelope stuffing, craft assembly, and chain letters. Remember, anything that seems too good to be true probably is! If you can’t get some information free to test the credibility of a site or person, it’s probably best to pass on the offer altogether.

The Internet can be a minefield if you’re not careful. There are scammers and rehashed junk all over the place. But, given the right information and support, it can also be a treasure trove of wealth, and your personal ticket to freedom.

Home Based Web Business - The 3 Secrets to Success

published on December 7th, 2008 . by admin

A home based web business sounds like a dream come true. Push a few buttons and the money starts pouring in. If only it were that easy!

There are, of course, a lot more steps in between those 2 occurrences and a lot of different paths you can take to get you there.

Here’s the secret to success with any home based web business.

1. Know Your Strengths

The best home based web business for you is one that fits with your personality and skills. For instance, I enjoy writing and coaching so that is where I spend the majority of my time. Even my marketing is heavily slanted in that direction - article marketing, squidoo, yahoo answers, etc..

If you’re more of the technical sort, a business designing sites and troubleshooting for others would do well.

There is a lot of information about different business models for you to choose from. And it’s written by some of the best copywriters in the world.

Before you spend your hard earned money on a way to generate income, make sure you really are suited for the work, and haven’t just bought into the emotional pull of the sales letter.

Find a home based web business that honors your true strengths and passion, and outsource as much of the rest as possible.

2. Stay Focused

There are so many distractions to be found online. You go to do some forum marketing and end up spending hours reading all the latest posts. You check your email every 15 minutes and waste half the day responding to family and friends. You go to yahoo to check the answers section, and end up getting sucked into the latest news headlines and gossip instead.

One of the true signs of any successful home based web business owner is the ability to manage their time.

Start your day with a plan and stick to it. Create 3 actionable items that relate directly to sales that you can accomplish each day.  Remind yourself of your goals and the reason WHY you want to create a successful home based business.

3. Believe In Yourself and Your Ability to Be Successful

One of the most surprising things that is usually left off of “how to courses” is the mental aspect of the business. It is CRUCIAL to your success.  Without confidence and a positive mindset, your business will be doomed before you even get it off the ground. You must conquer any self sabotaging thoughts and behavior before they have a chance to derail your business success.  Do this, and you’ll be on the path to success in very short order.

It’s never really the mechanics or our knowledge that slow us down, it’s our mindset!

Your Home Business Opportunity, MLM Or Online Venture: You Get What You Pay For

published on November 14th, 2008 . by admin

Unfortunately for some, the lure of the word "free" is just too great.  I guess it’s probably human nature that we seek out something for nothing, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.  In reality, there really is no such thing as free, if you realize that you need to be measuring the value of your home business opportunity, mlm or other online venture in terms other than money.

We need to take a closer look at this concept of free. The opportunities are endless, and there are more being created on a daily basis.  While most of us will look at the savings we make when an opportunity is free, have you considered what your time is worth?  I’m sure you’ve heard the saying "time is money", we’ll the internet has given that saying a whole new meaning.

When you get to a certain stage with your home business opportunity,  you come to realize that time is your most precious commodity, and it tends to attract a much higher value than it does when you start out on your online journey. Your time commands even more value and respect than money, as you look for ways to outsource your everyday tasks in order to spend your time on money gathering tasks. The time you are spending on the free stuff is time you aren’t spending on the things that will line your pockets.

Make sure also that the program you decide to go with has a marketing system in place.  You’ve got no idea how important this is.  I can give you an example though.  Do you really think that McDonald’s makes the best hamburgers in the world?  Me neither, but wouldn’t you just love to own their marketing system!  McDonald’s is a prime example of proof that its the system that works, not the program (or the product, in McDonald’s example).

Make sure that any program you are considering to make money online has a marketing system that compliments the program and fits seamlessly into the tasks that need to be done. You can check out a proven marketing system that has been responsible for the success of thousands of online entrepreneurs creating their very own residual income home business. After all, what if  I’m right?
