Moms Business – The 3 Secrets to Creating a Thriving Business While Still Having a Life

Moms business – Is it really possible to successfully be a mom and a business owner? I mean, being a mom is already a fulltime job. Try adding a new business into the mix, many times while still working another job, and you can get burned out before you even get started!
But it can be done. I know women who have 3,4 even 5 home schooled children, and run a successful home based business making over 100,000/year.(Yes, that’s a plural – there are more than one that I know doing this!) Their businesses have reached a point where they only have to work an hour or so a day to sustain that level of income.
It is possible!
So, how did they do it? Here is what I have learned from these amazing women about creating a successful moms business:
1. Truly believe, with all your heart, that you can do this. Ask any successful work at home moms - business success came only after they mentally prepared themselves for it. Self limiting beliefs can doom a business before you even open. For example, if you have an unconscious belief that you’re not worthy of success, you’ll sabotage your own efforts for success, without even realizing that you’re doing it. Likewise, you’ll be amazed at how fast the cash starts rolling in when you break though your limiting beliefs and truly start believing in yourself, your worth and your abilities.
2. Stay focused. Your time is extremely precious. You must stay laser focused on what will bring you results quickly. Money is a great motivator! You want to hone in on the 3 most things you can do today that will bring you the most immediate sales. Once you have accomplished these, you can move on to secondary tasks.
For example, checking your email is not going to bring you an immediate sale. Writing and submitting a press release will. Filing papers will not. Going to an after hours networking event will. Always do the 3 most important marketing tasks on your list each day.
3. Work smarter, not harder. Again, as a mom in business, your time is limited. You want to educate yourself on ways you can accelerate your success. In other words, you want to avoid the time consuming learning curves a new business brings. One of the best ways to do this is to find a mentor who has achieved the success you’re seeking. Someone who has already made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and can share their wisdom with you.
Many of the well accomplished mentors may be out of your budget but you only need to find someone one step ahead of you to achieve great results. You can also join forums and network with others who are working to create the same success as you. Moms Mastermind, for example is a wonderful resource and forum for networking AND gaining advice from other work at home moms.
A successful moms business is not only possible, it’s highly probable given the right mindset and focus.

There are great tips and all play an important role in the success of a business, but lets not forget that outsourcing the “busy” work or tasks that you don’t want to do can also play an important role in your success. Not only that, but outsourcing can actually relieve stress and give you some of your time back.
Thanks!
You’re absolutely right Stephanie! I should have included that in the work smarter, not harder section! I checked out your site at http://www.buckeyeva.com/ and see that you offer services for Mom business owners to do just that.
